Dental veneers are one of the most effective treatments available for helping patients improve the appearance of their smile. Veneers are thin cosmetic “masks” that are designed to hide teeth imperfections from view while looking like a natural, healthy tooth. Custom-made to cover only the affected part of the tooth, they are known for their long-lasting results and the significant ways in which they improve the appearance of gaps, chips, discolorations, and other common dental issues. Treatment for dental veneers is typically a two-stage process: Merit Dental will take an impression of your teeth in order to provide you with a custom fit, and send the impression off to a laboratory. Dr. Magnuson or Dr. Caringella, with very specific instructions, will have the artist/technician build your veneers. A short time later on your second visit, Dr. Magnuson or Dr. Caringella will affix the veneers to your teeth. Dental veneers are available in a variety of types to suit patients’ needs.

Porcelain veneers are some of the most state of the art cosmetic dental procedures performed. Made of a durable ceramic material, porcelain dental veneers are custom-designed for your teeth so they make the best fit possible, then porcelain is hand layered to match your surrounding teeth or create an all new beautiful look. Although porcelain dental veneers may require the removal of some of the tooth’s defective enamel in order to attain the best fit, these treatments are made to look and function like natural teeth and they can last for decades. This is the most conservative reconstructive treatment available that offers the highest aesthetic results. Learn more about porcelain dental veneers.
Lumineers® is a brand of Porcelain veneers offering many of the same benefits as porcelain dental veneers – such as improvement in the appearance of chips, stains, discolorations, and even misalignments. Lumineers® are thinner than traditional veneers because they do not have a cover layer of porcelain. Treatment with Lumineers® typically involves little or no drilling. Made of ultra-thin Cerinate® ceramic, Lumineers® can often be placed without a numbing injection, making for a virtually painless procedure that usually takes less time in the dentist’s chair when compared with other veneer treatments. Color-tinted to match the rest of your teeth, they look natural and can last for many, many years.
Dura-Thin® Prepless Veneers
Similar to Lumineers®, Dura-Thin® Prepless Veneers are an innovative treatment designed to mask teeth imperfections with little or no removal of existing tooth enamel. These ultra-thin veneers are custom-made of porcelain and affixed with minimal or no altering of the affected tooth, often leading to a more comfortable treatment process. Dura-Thin® Veneers are made of an extraordinarily thin sheet of porcelain that’s strong enough to last for years. Dura-Thin® veneers can be very effective for patients who have had relapse after orthodontic treatment, those who have small or worn-down teeth, and masking chips, stains and discolorations. Dura-Thin® Veneers are a very conservative restorative treatment that offers many years of aesthetic results.
